What a rubbish removal website actually needs to do
Picture your customer. They’re standing in a garage full of old furniture, or in their late mum’s house with a week to clear it before the keys go back. They’re on their phone. They’ve searched, they’ve seen three or four businesses, and they’re deciding in seconds who looks most trustworthy and easiest to deal with.
Your website has to answer their questions straight away:
- Do you cover my area?
- Do you take what I’ve got? Sofas, mattresses, fridges, garden waste, builders’ rubble.
- Roughly what will it cost? Even a “from” price or a clear explanation of how pricing works.
- Are you legit? Waste carrier licence, real photos, real reviews, a real person answering the phone.
- How quickly can you come?
- How do I book? One tap to call, one tap to WhatsApp, or a quick photo quote.
A lot of man and van sites fail at least two of these. That’s rarely the owner’s fault. The site was built by a generalist, or knocked together years ago, and the business has moved on since. We cover the most common problems in why your rubbish removal website isn’t getting calls.
How we design man and van websites
Mobile first, because that’s where your customers are
We design for a phone first and a desktop second. That means a sticky call button, short pages that scan easily, big tap targets, and pages that load fast on a patchy 4G signal. Speed isn’t a nice-to-have: a slow site loses calls, and Google uses page experience when it decides who to show.
Photo quote forms
A lot of jobs are hard to price over the phone. We build quote forms that let customers upload photos of the job, pick the type of waste and give their postcode, so you can send a firm quote without a site visit and they can’t claim the load was smaller than it was.
Pages built around services and areas
Your site gets a proper page for each service you want to sell, such as house clearances, garden waste, furniture removal and garage clearances, and for the towns you most want to work in. Each page is written to rank and to convert, not copy-pasted.
Trust, front and centre
Your waste carrier licence number, real photos of your vans and crew, your Google reviews, how you dispose of waste responsibly, and an honest explanation of what you can’t take. Since householders can be held responsible if their waste is fly-tipped by an unlicensed carrier, showing you’re licensed and accountable is a selling point. Use it.
Built for SEO from the start
Clean code, fast pages, proper titles and descriptions, structured data, sensible page structure, and an easy way to add new pages. Marc works with Glyn from the start, so the site supports your local SEO instead of fighting it. If you’re replacing an old site, we redirect your old pages properly so you don’t lose the rankings you already have.
Tracking set up before launch
Every call button, form and WhatsApp link is tracked, so from day one you can see which pages and which marketing are bringing in work. That makes every other decision easier, especially if you run Google Ads.
Redesign or fix?
You don’t always need a new website. Sometimes a few changes, like a clearer headline, a visible phone number, faster images, a better quote form and a reviews section, can make a big difference to how many visitors get in touch. We cover that in CTR and conversion optimisation.
We’ll tell you honestly which route makes sense. If your current site is slow, hard to update, or built on a platform that holds you back, a rebuild is usually the better long-term option. If the bones are good, we’ll fix what’s there.
